A nice camera is not what creates a beautiful portrait!  A great photographer creates it. The camera and lighting are only tools. It is the same thing as saying a chef has nice pots and pans or a painter has a nice set of paint brushes and high quality paint.  A camera is only a tool and the person operating the camera knows how to operate it, where to place the subject and lights, how to pose the subject, etc.
